Haviland's

On Saturday afternoon we left the delights of Birmingham behind us in favour of a lovely stroll around Stratford-Upon-Avon. It wasn't long before Haviland's Tearoom caught Bailey's beady eye, with its window adorned with cake stands groaning with tiers of delicious pastries and cakes.

On our way back to the car after our day in Stratford, Bailey announced he was off to Haviland's while he still had the chance to buy a cake and the rest of us quickly toddled off behind him. Bailey ordered his usual favourite, Millionaire's Shortbread, while Roy and Aída expressed interest in both the "Lemon Squidgy" and "Ginger Oaty" so I bought one of each. What a treat!

We were super impressed with our cakey treats. Bailey loved his Millionaire's Shortbread and I must say he is a difficult man to please when it comes to Millionaire's Shortbread. In fact he likes it so much that as soon as he started eating it he rather conveniently disappeared down the road. He said it was so yummy he couldn't savour it and just chowed it down.

We loved the Ginger Oaty and Lemon Squidgy, they were gorgeous. The Lemon Squidgy was beautifully moist and deliciously lemony. The Ginger Oaty was amazing too - really hefty with a lovely bit of choccy icing and a great gingery flavour.

We loved the cakes at Haviland's and I imagine the rest of their treats would have been amazing too. What a shame we don't live nearer by so we can nip back for a proper lunch there sometime!
